I though today was only going to be a baseball trades type of day in the news, but Anthony Hopkins the preacher whose wife was found in a freezer insured that was not going to be the case , Alabama police say they found what they believe is a small time preachers wife in his freezer. Police said no one reported 36-year-old Arletha Hopkins missing, even though she hadn’t been heard from in three years. The body was discovered covered in a freezer in a utility room during a police search of the home in Mobile after a relative of the preacher-contacted police. She has been missing 3 years?  Now can you imagine the relative who discovered this poor woman bound and locked away the freezer? The preachers wife who was found in the freezer, mothered 8 children. Here we go again , kids are victims through no fault of their own. The preacher was arrested during a service , where he was preaching on forgiveness, I suspect his coming days will be spent asking for forgiveness.

It would appear that Criss Angel and his biggest and baddest stunt didn’t quite go off as planned or did it? The helicopter that was supposed ot whisk him away to safety left without him and minutes after the Spyglass Hotel in Clearwater imploded Criss Angel walked away covered in dust. Some questions need to be answered
How did he survive a 7 story building implosion with nary a scratch ?
Did he pre-plan not to catch the helicopter all along?
An crowd estimated at 70,000 watched and apparently had quite the party on the beach, shouted approval as he walked away. Something smells really scammy here. Criss Angel knows the truth about the Clearwater implosion. Now if he will just tell us

I say the only way to lose a 44 pound cat is if you want to. officials in in Camden Count , New Jersey are in possession of Princess Chunk a 44 pound cat with a healthy appetite. Princess Chunk, who nearly matches the fattest 46-pound cat in the Guinness Book of World Records is needof a home. I suspect there will be no shortage ofwould be fat cat owners who want to add those extra pounds to set the Guinness Record for fats cats. Silly kind of story unless you are the 44 pound cat in which case I would take this bruiser in a New York minute

A romance that was only made public in May bewteen Kate Hudosn and Lance Armstrong is apparently over. Reportedly conflicting schedules and constant bickering was the culprit and a lst ditch effort to patch things up this past weekend at the Livestrong Summit failed . These celebrity romances sure don’t last long do they, but then I dont understand how they could. I mean think about it. Making time for each other has to be impossible. There was no ugliness according to reporst my US Magazine “only sadness” , which means it may not be over. Like the song says , breaking up is hard to do, and it apparently was for Kate Hudson and Lance Armstrong.

I am just as intrigues by Criss Angel as most of you are. I know its illusions and I know it is not real, but how can you not be amazed at some of the illusions and stunts he pulls off. Well Wednesday evening I have a chance to see it live and up close. I reside less than 10 minutes where his escape stunt will take place. Las Vegas-based illusionist Criss Angel will perform his “biggest and baddest” escape Wednesday night on Clearwater Beach when he attempts to un-cuff himself from the sixth floor of the Spyglass Resort. I will probably be able to feel the implosion as it happens. Criss Angel will make his way through a series of unlocked doors and then get to the roof where a helicopter will fly him into the night. Just before the nine-story building implodes. The event will be broadcast live on the A&E channel. I am not sure this will be one of his more spectacular stunts although he doesn’t feel that way. Unlocking himself form the shackles will be accomplished before his would be jailers get out of the building themselves. I suppose there is real danger of missing the helicopter rope or slipping with his grip. Perhaps the premature detonation of the 500 sticks of dynamite may be an issue. Still I will either be there be watching on TV

Oh my goodness this is a tragic story out of Oklahoma Police say a puppy has attacked and killed a 2-month-old boy who was left unattended in a swing. Officer Jason Willingham said Monday the baby was mauled by the Labrador at the boy’s home and died at the scene. He says the dog will most likely be destroyed. Willingham says the baby’s mother and grandmother were home, but nobody was in the room at the time. Police are unsure why the dog attacked. I cannot imagine the grief this family must be feeling at the loss of their son.

Some time a while back two friends at work told me I needed to see this move called sisterhood of the traveling pants. So trusting their judgment I located it on my cable stations and watched or tried to watch it. To date I count it as one of the worst movies I have ever seen. We still have a running joke about my thoughts on that movie. Then they told me there were plans to make sisterhood of the traveling pants 2 and I though they were just joking me. I don’t claim to be a movie critic, but can someone, anyone explain to me what it the allure to these movies. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 Premiere is news today, I’m sitting here laughing my butt off. I just don’t get it Come on people educate me. Except for a few decent looking girls, Blake Lively, Alexis Bledel, America Ferrera and Amber Tamblyn,I’m not sure you pay me to go watch the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 Premiere.

Bennigans was founded in 1976. The restaurant has locations in 32 states. There was day when Bennigans was the place to go , the place to be. In fact there was d ay when Bennigans was one of my own best customers in my family owned hospitality equipment service agency. The truth is I probably wouldn’t have given this news a second thought if it wasn’t for that fact.
Living in the sunshine state of Florida I recently visited a Bennigans for dinner and my how the times have changed. The food, the service and the ambiance were horrible. Large restaurant chains are very trendy and change with the culture, that is the ones that want to be successful. Bennigans fell off the map years ago and never really jumped back on, So long Bennigans. Company stores will close today.

Well I guess there is another search engine to add to the mix. Cuil.com pronounced cool is debuting today so I thought I would give it a try, Maybe first day jitters but I say Cuil.com  isn’t so cool. The black search page is hard on the eyes and the results kind of suck , but maybe they are working out the bugs. Example Squoze.net wasn’t in there. How can that be? If it reportedly searches more pages that anyone, including the Big G?  Cuil.com hasn’t exactly won me over just yet. Google is still the Mac Daddy of the search engines, like them or hate them, Cuil.com is back burner for now

Say it aint so, Lisa Garza is rumored to have won the Next Food Network Star competition. rumors or fact ? The next Food network Star finale airs tonight and it may suck. Dallas’ own restaurant owner Lisa Garza is one challenge away from becoming the Food Network’s next big star.

Garza, 32, is the co-owner and special event planner of Suze Restaurant & Catering, located on Northwest Highway in Texas. She also designs and sells chic kitchen aprons.

I watch this show faithfully and can tell you she is not my favorite. I’m pulling for Aaron McCargo, Jr. he has a personality that doesn’t include crying every episode.  I am worn out by her cry baby approach to the Next Food network Star Competition.

Garza and opponents Adam Gertler and  Aaron McCargo, Jr. battle it out tonight. I hope the rumors of Lisa Garza winning turn out to be wrong. tell me what you think
