The PETA people have concocted a scheme in which a apparently wealthy donor would buy one of the Sea World parks and free the animals to the wild, including Shamu the parks feature entertainer killer whale. If Shamu could talk , I bet he would say , are you freaking kidding me? Why would I want to go out to the wild and be killed? And I agee with Shamu , I dont think Shamu would stand much of a chance in the wild and PETA would be better served to change their name to PETM People fo the Ethical Treatment of Man , or is that not important? Shawn Johnson won a gold medal in balance beam today in Bejing. It is about dam time. I think through no fault of her own she has been a victim of partial judging. Johnson, who had been the defending all-around world champion, had been unable to find much favor with the Olympic judges, taking silver in team, all-around and floor exercise competition. The little gal is a supreme athlete and Shawn Johnson can now be mentioned with the elite gymnasts from the past. China entered 12 13 and 14 year old girls at best and everyone just seemed to turn their heads. That makes a gold medal for Shawn Johnson in balance beam even sweeter. Hulk Hogan aka Terry Bollea will give Linda Bollea 40 K a month on alimony according to an agreement reached in a Florida Divorce court today In the meantime, Linda Bollea gets the use of the house on Willadel Drive and Terry Bollea ( Hulk Hogan ) gets to use the couple’s house on Eldorado Avenue in Clearwater . From the world of bizarre lawsuits, Victoria Osteen is being sued for an outburst on a Continental Airlines flight on 2005. Sharon Brown, who is asking for 10 percent of Osteen’s net worth because of the Dec. 19, 2005 dispute while the plane was boarding in Houston, will testify that Osteen grabbed her by the shoulders, pushed her into a restroom door and elbowed her in the chest.
This is where it gets bizarre, Sharon Brown claims that the incident has caused hemorrhoids. What! Yeah lets assume that Victoria Osteen did slam her up against the wall, how does that cause hemorrhoids Well Brown has an answer for that, Brown contends that she lost her religious faith and suffers from hemorrhoids because of the anxiety and trauma resulting from the incident. Not much faith there to begin with Id say and the anxiety she may be suffering is from a completely frivolous lawsuit and a veiled attempt at extortion. Victoria Osteen looks to be on the wrong here, but 10% of her net worth is a bit extreme for punitive damages. Lawyers argued that Victoria Osteen was out of control. Ditto for Sharon Brown. Steven Curtis Chapman is making appearances on various TV shows including Good Morning America to discuss the tragic loss of his daughter. Chapman’s 5-year-old daughter, Maria Sue, died May 21 after being struck by a car driven by her teenage brother in the driveway of the family’s Tennessee home. For those of us with children the reality of losing one of your babies is something you choose not to think about. Steven Curtis Chapan and his wife are forced to do so, every day. It truly is a test of his faith . the family hopes that these appearances will serve as a chance to proclaim “what they know and are deeply convinced of even in these difficult days, the Gospel is true and faith in Christ is our Hope,” I cannot fathom such a loss and our prayers are with this family, Nothing can prepare Steven Curtis Chapman for this tragedy , but nothing can sustain him like his faith either.

Brett Favre is reportedly talking with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers about joining the team . A trade would have to be worked out but apparently Buccaneers General Manger Bruce Allen is ironing out details on that issue. The sideshow that has become the Brett Favre story continues and it seems all but certain, now he wont be playing in Green Bay. I have question that still bothers me since I heard about it, How does Brett Favre turn down 20 –25 million to stay retired? That just doesn’t seem like good economic sense no matter how much you love the game .If you think this has been a circus, wait until Favre tells Tampa Bay Buccaneers Head Coach Jon Gruden to screw off , during , I would say the first week of practicing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Honus Wagner never much cared for his baseball card to be included in cigarette packs and had them pulled. Although we don’t know historians theorize among other things he didn’t receive enough compensation. Even in those days ball players wanted to be paid . Supposedly less than 100 of these cards are known to exist , fewer than 10 in excellent conditon That motivated an Arkansas man to pay 1.62 million dollars for the 1909 Honus Wagner baseball card.

What enters a persons mind when the decision is made to pay 1.62 million for a piece of cardboard. Can you imagine explaining that to you significant other? Can you imagine the buyers remorse one might experience the morning after? I am going to assume that the Arkansas man has plans to monetize and market the Honus Wagner baseball card , but recovering 1.62 million is a long way from break even. Baseball card collectors have long been known for their obsession with cardboard. I myself once paid 700.00 for a Nolan Ryan rookie card, but I had a plan. I sold it the next day for 1200.00 . I wonder what pan from Arkansas can have for his Honus Wagner baseball card

Potato Chips contain something called acrylamide in them and it may cause cancer in humans. So not only do potato chips make you a fat ass, they can potentially kill you. And here I was worried about my arteries being clogged . California filed suit in 2005 to force chip makers to clean up their chips. One settled lawsuit and 3 million dollars later  Four food manufacturers agreed to reduce levels of a cancer-causing chemical in their potato chips and french fries. . Acrylamide forms when starchy foods are baked or fried. Studies have shown the chemical, which also has industrial uses, causes cancer in lab animals and nerve damage to workers who are exposed to high levels. The companies avoided trial by agreeing to pay a combined $3 million in fines and reduce the levels of acrylamide in their products over three years. 3 years huh? The Food and Drug Administration is researching whether acrylamide in food poses a health risk. Well if it makes rats sick, it must be bad. So what are we to do? Stop eating potato chips? Perhaps stop frying and baking starches. I have another question. What the heck isn’t bad for you these days Potato Chips are going to get healthier, but seriously I doubt anyone cares. Disclaimer , this post was written while pounding down a family sized bag of nacho cheese Doritos , chasing them with the soft drink of all soft drinks Diet Coke. I am one who is in favor of any shoe who puts any woman in high heels. If the high heeled Croc can do that I say hooray. I went looking for a pair of the high heeled Crocs today and as you can see in the pic. I don’t think they look too bad, at least not compared to the traditional Crocs.
