Greg Norman with new bride Chris Evert watching , fired another 70 today at the British Open . Rocco Mediate shot 72 and is a few strokes back of clubhouse leader Greg Norman. What the heck is with the old guys? Greg Norman by his own admission doesn’t practice muck, doesn’t play much but somehow is leading the British Open. I promise both Greg Norman and Rocco Mediate enjoy just being there. They are content with what they have
There is something to be said for being content with what you have. Life is funny , you don’t know anything until you are older and learned how to drive the twisting turning roads to contentment. Chris Evert is probably pretty much in the same place, which is why this makes for a really nice feel good story. Greg Norman was a noted party animal in his glory days. Chris Evert was reportedly quite the promiscuous tennis pro in her day. Both have been divorced a few times, and the Greg Norman divorce is said to be costly. Somehow while driving their roads of life they found each other. I’m happy for both Greg Norman and Chris Evert, Can Greg Norman win the British Open? Well that may be asking a bit much. However I bet he is just happy to be there with his wife Chris Evert watching and applauding his every move. Kudos to you both Greg Norman and Chris Evert , you deserve all the happiness in the world.
