The Atkins Diet somehow took a report and with it vindication for it low carb approach to weight loss. A recently concluded two year study concluded that among 3 types of diets low-carb diet, a low-fat diet and a so-called Mediterranean diet , the low carb Atkins Diet improved cholesterol the best.
When I was on the Atkins diet I lost 30 lbs. that’s a fact. My breakfast consisted of a pound of bacon and a dozen scrambled eggs every day. How in the heck is that heart healthy?
The Atkins Diet probably had nothing to do with the fact that I had quintuple heart by-pass surgery 2 years later but I have counted that experience with the Atkins Diet as a contributory factor. Ill take Weight Watchers any day as it is not a diet in the sense that the Atkins Diet is a diet. It is more a lifestyle change and I have been using heart healthy cooking and living methods ever since. No Atkins Diet for me, thank you very much . I havent found many heart paitients who support the Atkins Diet
