Cold Stone Creamery Stores Closing In Bunches

June 18, 2008 by DJ · 2 Comments

Do you like paying 4 or 5 dollars a scoop for ice cream ? Apparently not too many people do either as Cold Stone Creamery Ice Cream Stores are closing by the dozens. For some perspective lets see… a gallon of gas or a scoop of cold stone creamery ice cream , you do the math. Tis wont be the first time you read about high end designer retail stores suffering from a dip in sales . As gas prices rise , all the frills most people have enjoyed must be pared down. Cold Stone Creamery is getting lots of publicity these day for a failing business model , so blame it on the oil process and the cost to refine that oil into a gallon of gas. It going to get worse before it gets better, On second thought it might not get better at all. Imagine you are a Cold Stone creamery franchisee today , that gotta hurt

I agree. Cold Stone sucks!!! I own four stores that have never made a profit in more than three years. They’ve nearly sucked me and my family completely dry of all our savings. Now to hear that they are taking kickbacks was just the last straw. And you can’t sell these stores because the whole world knows they are a great big loser. Mine have been for sale for more than two years. In that time I have not received one serious offer.

I’ll be through with this chapter in my life real soon. I will close all of my stores after the Holidays and join in with the class action lawsuit that the franchisees are bringing against the company. This is swamp land at its best.
