NAME            time -- time a command



SYNOPSIS        time command



DESCRIPTION     The given command is timed; after it is complete,

                time prints the time spent in the system, waiting

                for disk, and in execution of the command.



                The disk I/O time can be variable depending on

                other activity in the system.
